DenBuddy vs TroopTrack
TroopTrack runs the whole unit: dues, calendars, communication and records. DenBuddy plans the den meeting. Most packs that compare them are really asking which problem hurts more this month.
PackMaster · Pricing varies by unit size
PackMaster is the Cub Scout counterpart to TroopMaster, built for pack records: membership, advancement history, awards and reports, with desktop and hosted options. DenBuddy does not manage the pack. It reads your den's advancement out of Scoutbook Plus and turns what is missing into a meeting agenda.
Details taken from each product's public site in September 2026. Software changes; check with them before you decide, and tell us at hello@denbuddy.com if we have something wrong.
PackMaster is the Cub Scout sibling of TroopMaster, a long-standing records and administration package. DenBuddy is a planning tool for the leader running Tuesday's meeting.

These are real strengths, and none of them are on the DenBuddy roadmap. If they describe your pack's problem, buy theirs.
DenBuddy starts from the requirements each Scout is still missing and builds the meeting around them. Gap analysis, a planner with a coverage meter, a Scoutbook Plus import that reads always and writes only when you press Send, and a check-in link are the whole product.
PackMaster belongs to the advancement chair and the committee. DenBuddy belongs to the den leader with a meeting on Tuesday and eight Scouts who each need something different. If your pack already keeps good records and the weak link is den meetings, DenBuddy is the piece that is missing, and a den leader can try it free without changing anything the committee does.
No. Scoutbook is the official record, and DenBuddy hands advancement back as a CSV to upload there. Keep whatever the committee relies on.
No. It runs in a browser, including on the phone in your pocket during the meeting. The only installed piece is the Chrome extension that does the Scoutbook Plus import.
DenBuddy imports from Scoutbook Plus and exports a CSV in Scoutbook's column order, so the den leader's work reaches the official record without being typed twice.
