DenBuddy vs TroopWebHost
TroopWebHost gives a unit a full website and back office, with TroopWebHostCS for Cub packs. DenBuddy plans the den meeting and leaves your website alone.
TroopTrack · 99 dollars a year
TroopTrack is unit management software: money, calendar, communication and records for a whole troop or pack, at 99 dollars a year. DenBuddy is a den meeting planner: it reads your advancement out of Scoutbook Plus, shows what each Scout still needs, and builds Tuesday's agenda around it. They solve different problems and a pack can run both.
Details taken from each product's public site in September 2026. Software changes; check with them before you decide, and tell us at hello@denbuddy.com if we have something wrong.
TroopTrack runs the whole unit: dues, calendars, communication and records. DenBuddy plans the den meeting. Most packs that compare them are really asking which problem hurts more this month.
| What you are comparing | DenBuddy | TroopTrack |
|---|---|---|
| Built around | One den's meeting, week to week | The whole unit's administration |
| Den meeting planning | Agenda built from open requirements, with coverage | Calendar events and agendas you write yourself |
| Advancement gap analysis | Per Scout, per requirement, Bobcat first | Advancement records and reports per Scout |
| Scoutbook Plus | Import via browser extension; send approved completions back on your press, or export the CSV | Import and export tools; check their docs for current support |
| Attendance | Public check-in link and QR, late after 15 minutes | Attendance recorded against unit events |
| Dues, budgets and payments | Not offered | Yes, a core strength |
| Unit website and email | Not offered | Yes |
| Shared meeting plans | Community library, scrubbed of names | Not offered |
| AI drafting | Akela, optional, grounded in your gaps | Not offered |
| Price | Free while we launch; pack pricing to come | 99 dollars a year, listed on their site |
These are real strengths, and none of them are on the DenBuddy roadmap. If they describe your pack's problem, buy theirs.
DenBuddy starts from the requirements each Scout is still missing and builds the meeting around them. Gap analysis, a planner with a coverage meter, a Scoutbook Plus import that reads always and writes only when you press Send, and a check-in link are the whole product.
If your pack's pain is money, calendars and parent email, TroopTrack is the bigger answer and DenBuddy does none of it. If your pain is that den leaders do not know what to run on Tuesday and advancement gets recorded in June, that is the job DenBuddy is built for, and one den is free. Several packs will end up with TroopTrack for the committee and DenBuddy for the den leaders.
Yes. They do not overlap much. DenBuddy reads from Scoutbook Plus and writes nothing anywhere, so it does not interfere with whatever your committee uses.
No. There is no money handling in DenBuddy, and none is planned.
DenBuddy is free while we launch, for a single den or a whole pack. TroopTrack lists 99 dollars a year. They are not the same product, so price alone is a poor way to choose.
Try it free with one den. If the gap analysis and the planner save your den leaders an evening a month, it will be obvious quickly.

PackMaster is the Cub Scout sibling of TroopMaster, a long-standing records and administration package. DenBuddy is a planning tool for the leader running Tuesday's meeting.
Not an alternative to Scoutbook. A planning layer that reads from it and writes back only when you press Send.
DenBuddy is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Scouting America. Cub Scouts, Scoutbook and adventure names are trademarks of their respective owners.
One den is free forever. Import from Scoutbook Plus, plan a meeting, and keep whatever your committee already uses.
Free for one den. No credit card. Works with Scoutbook Plus.
